Highlights of the June Game 2009

Wow! What a game right?!?!?! I feel like we did it all…

I really appreciate and thank all of you for your participation as NPC’s. You guys/gals really did a phenomenal job!

So where do I begin with the highlights???/ …No specific order here folks, but here goes.

• The Silver Being: You all did a really decent job fending the creature off for an hour or so…Is it finally dead? I would like to think so…hmmm.

• The Shadow Horn plot: Acquiring the shadow horn was no easy task when there’s two Medusa involved…great job making it through that plot. Sometimes it is the little skills that make a big difference right Vica? It is all about team work; great job folks!!!

• The undead captain: Stark, unfortunately I was not there to see the wonderful dual take place; I heard it was a real show stopper for sure!!! Do we need a re-run so I can see??? That would be nice…maybe someday.

• The dying Scourge: Ok, the green laser is kewl, but I am glad to see Arlon is finally stepping in to rid the stronghold of these horrific stone scourges.

• The Minotaur returns: So, will there be a war over the horns or will you all find them and return them to Tormgul the leader??? More to follow I guess…nice job yelling back and forth with you guys!

• Red Dragon: What can I say…moveable/retractable eight foot long wingspan. How awesome was that eye-candy?!?!?!?! Good thing he didn’t blast you all. Do you think the Sprites had a chance???? ….Ah, no!

• Two Sprites: Although I wasn’t there for the entire plot, I heard it was a real blast!!! Thanks Ginger and Kaitlin for playing them and most importantly rolling that plot off as it was written; I personally appreciate that…this one isn’t over yet folks…hmmm.

• Driel and Torom: How kewl was it to mess around with that Torom follower??? I couldn’t resist waylaying him…having a cleric of Driel place a rose on his chest and a cleric of laroon place a leaf on him was surely memorable!!!

• Closing the Klors guild: Zeesa, thanks for making the hike a 100 times so people could acquire the chosen items…welcome to our (NPC) world.

• More to follow…gotta get back to work folks

I'm so bummed that I missed it. (sighs) I'm glad it was a good event though.

You should see the cartoon I drew of that. He's been dubbed "Joe the Sleepy Toromite."

My personal highlight was the pirate duel (Darren? AWESOME.), but the most entertaining thing was that poor random nameless Toromite.

Toromite: Hello all. I'll be on my way.
Orogom: Indeed.
Toromite: *starts walking up the hill*
Orogom: Assassinate.
Toromite: ... ... ... really?!

This game was downright AMAZING! Some of my favorite moments...

-I truly enjoyed playing Lily the Sprite. Not only was it fun to NPC with Ginger, but I Magic Thrusted Stark at least 3 or 4 times simply for the way he was looking at me. *giggles* I hope I get to play her again soon.

-The assassination of the the "small talk Toromite" on Saturday night. Freakin' priceless to see the look on his face. Nice killing, Oro!

-Getting the attention of the Silver Being by yelling "Hey Shiny" and then getting chased, along with Brander. As someone put it over the weekend, "The clerics took the lead." We're so badass.

-The battle between Stark and the Undead Captain. Still wanna kick his ass for going after my man! Stark is someone not to mess with in battle.

-Escaping by a thread from Keith and the Kobolds! HA HA HA! You forgot I still had that "Nullify Death Spell" up my sleeve. I still can't believe y'all couldn't find me in the Trading Post when you ran by at least twice. *dances* Cali wins again!

I do believe we are all forgetting the amazing job done by the Serpert Theives.
One robbing at least 3 people and actually escaping with it all. (Great job man!)
And the look on afew peoples faces when my second time as a serpent thief wakes right between Sasch, Izzy and Tabris. Priceless look on their faces. (Oh look hanz is- OH GOD IT ISN"T HANZ!)

The antics of the kobolds. Looting each other, Stealing oro's hat and fighting while wearing it. Terrifying the new preistess. Good times

And lets not forget (Although it wasn't in game) the rude awakening that Laurilin Brendear and Samarath got.
Notice. Thank you for noticing this notice, your noticing has been noted. (And will be reported to the authorities!)

The shadow horn was not given to the shadow elves without some reason. Come now... you know us better than that. Friends in high places do amazing things. We will just let that one play out.... MWAHAHAHAHA

-The intense think tank in the Klor's guild really felt like we were deciding the fate of the world. It rocked!

-Sprites... awesome, and as always entertaining... though that Lilly one has been hanging around the taverns too much and picking up the sailor talk.... naughty sprite!

- I didnt see the Captain and Stark, but, I did see the costume before it went out... Nice job!

- Vica and her perfectfly timed arrival may have been the key that saved all the elves of the world.... Hannon Le... or thank you! (Awesome WAYLAY!)

- All that action... 2 npcs... just incredible.

- And now... war with the coven witches to look forward to. Pay Back time!

- Ok... now I need twelve more hours to sleep since I exausted my brain typing this.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

-Definitely the sprites. I really look forward to future plots involving them, because Tabris certainly seems to have taken a liking to them.

-NPCing! It truly was fun. In particular:
As the Kobold, and interacting with the other Kobolds. It was like a 3 Stooges bit at times.
The brigands, especially when I rolled out of battle with Stark and Cali, and back into it with Xollio and the rest.

-The battle between Stark and his captain, even though from my vantage point, it looked like a lightsaber fight in the dark.

-And quite a few other little things that I'm (ever so craftily) trying to weave into potential future plots for Tabris. *Evil grin* Lets see where this all goes, eh?

Okay, let's see if I can remember everything:

Orogom: STARK! GET DOWN HERE NOW!
Stark: CHAD! YOU DICK, YOU STOLE MY SHIRT!
Oro: I DON'T CARE IF YOU'RE NAKED! GET DOWN HERE NOW! *turns to constable in mid-fight and says* Hey, did he just call me "Chad"?
Silver Creature: DISARM!
****
Going up to the Klor's Guild with Taldrin and sitting there for the better part of an hour while he filled me in on SO much history and how it's affecting the present that I now have to add Legends & Lore and some History general skills purely so it's not meta-gaming :P
****
Being the first turned to stone by the Medusi and becoming the human shield for Sashka and Zeesa. Just like old times, eh Ginger?
****
Sashka, nice catch! Had I hit that rock it would have been game over for me
****
The social toromite, as I recall the scene:

Standing at the top of Tavern Slide Road (the path from the scourge to the main road) with around 8-10 people, we see a Toromite coming up. Stark comments to Morgan about how he would like to kill the guy and Morgan responds by reminding Stark he is on the Guard. I look and say, "Well, may I kill him then? Pretty please?!" Morgan's response was, "You're not on the Guard, so I guess I don't care."

As Mr. Toromite comes up the path and bids us a good evening, I wait until his back is to me and then VERY lazily place the dagger into his back and pull it out while calling, "Assassinate!" He turns around with look of TOTAL shock on his face for a whole 7 seconds and, still standing, looks at me and squeaks, "REALLY? REALLY?! Aw, come on! I didn't even have a weapon!"

At this point, Stark draws his sword, holds it up at the appropriate level, and simply walks forward lazily, and the tip of his sword hits the chest and Stark makes the Fatal Strike.
****
Lord Quintaras giving me permission to haul away trach offenders to pay fines is a power I look forward to abusing
****
Taking on 3 Kobolds at once, and having them disarm me of all my weapons save for 2 daggers. They backed me into a corner and all of a sudden I launched myself at them, daggers whirling. One of them actually stepped back and said, "Whoa! You just hit me 7 times in 2 seconds!" I just smiled, mumbled "yep!" and kept going!

This was truly an amazing game it felt like we were playing for more then just the weekend so much stuff happened it was totally crazy.

Truly the entire game was a highlight for me so I will name a few:

1 - Getting killed by Ash & then fatally stuck by Orogom.....nice! So scared I thought she was going to Soul Execute me!!! What a bad ass way to die......thanks for the great RP Keith on where she took me and what happened......I could totally invision it all!

2 - The Dragon wings - SICK SICK EYE CANDY!!! But we had the mightly Tebris to protect the sprites so we just may have stood a chance!! I heard he's got a mean throw on those daggers! :)

3 - The RP session in the Klor's guild - what can I say that was the most amazing RP experience I have had in quite a long time......it was insanely intense and as Laurelin stated before it truly did feel like the weight of the world was on our shoulders!!! Let's hope we made the right decision...hmmmmm????

4 - The Klor's guild plot to empty out the cache was really cool. I LOVED seeing all those magical items in there especially since some of them were items we saw in year one......that was really cool for me and truly felt like it was real. Thanks for going all in and linking the items to previous years!!!

5 - Role playing with Raydori as I walked her around the entire stronghold. Are you sure you never done this before????? OH wait maybe its in your blood after all our WHOLE family LARPS!!

6 - Smirl in the Taver asking the new cleric of Driel to give a blessing for Eliora......Brandier & Zeesa start laughing hysterically and Smirl gets mad and throws the grapes he was eating at Zeesa's face!!! Then says to Brandier "Why are you laughing at me?" Bradier says "Smirl I wasn't laughing at you" and then Smirl says "Don't fib I can tell because your ears are starting to curl" then Brandier has this deer in the headlights look on his face as he brings his hands up to cover his ears! Priceless!!

7 - Seeing all the new players from last game make their return. It was great having you all back - you guys really are a great group and fantasic role players. Can't wait to see you all next game!.

PS ELIORA MISSED YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!!

Wow! How could I have forgotten when Ash told me to make the other people be quiet so I went and slaughtered the tavern. After the mind control wore off, Laurelin looked like she was ready to kill me, even after it was revealed tha tI was under mind control.

Oh, and Zeesa! Sorry about decapitating you! Did Vith go easy on you?

Smirl asked a cleric of Driel to bless me?!?! ROFL! I wish I could have seen it.

And I missed you too Zeesa. But I'll be coming to this coming game most likely and that will be very fun! YAY!

Heh... Orogom... Laurelin didn't just look like she was ready to kill you even after she learned it was control, She WAS considering doing it regardless. Bastard! Ill have my revenge!

As for the four smart guys and their wake up call....

Vengeance shall be mine!

And Mr. Small Talk Toromite ... yeah he was almost toast down in the tavern when Laurelin realized all the guard had left for bed! She was securing her witnesses when he left and went up the hill... Good follow through for us Orogom.

LMFAO! I was giggling when I heard that screaming match. Sorry he didn't get up faster, Oro. I tried to wake him before I ran down, but I guess he was more tired than I thought. I shall have to try harder to get him up next time. :D

Oh gods, and then either Stark or Orogom tries to loot the corpse.

Despite the fact that none of us was technically there, the assassination of the Toromite was hilarious. And to think, I STILL can't disect stuff for alchemical ingredients...

Memoriable moment? Seeing Vith, unfortuently.

Ones I actually enjoyed?

Darren, I never thought you were Hanz; if I had, I wouldn't have readied a weapon I can use in the brush. I really should have clarified my being alright when I hit that rock... I blame the pain/shock/whatever of landing on a rock. And then, HE KILLS ME AGAIN! Luckily, my armour has steel knees, or I would have probably lost my knee cap on that rock. Darren, every time you kill me, I hit a rock. Please stop.

On our way back from fighting off the bandits (running though the woods to get to the rest of you was fun), Keith was following us while invisible. I heard him. I continued hearing him the entire way up. Eventually, once I heard his knees crack, he started moving silently. He goes and hides down the trail for a few minutes before coming back. Unlike everyone ele, I am still listening dilligently, leading to the following.
Keith: *steps on a twig*
Israfil: Clarify! Are you still moving silently?
Keith: No?
Israfil: Alright then. There's someone over there!
Keith: You could hear that? Seriously?
I thought the fact that I was clarifying if he was still silent would give it away. So, apparently, my hearing is better than an elf's. If necessary, I have in-game reasoning for that. Ad, thanks to the above scene and me having at least a seven foot blind swing (I REALLY like glaives and other polearms), I recieved ANOTHER vital strike.

Our Small Talk Toromite had worse Torom-logic than I do! Apparently, he was fishing for me to out myself. Weird.

Oh, yes, the skeleton. That was thefirst time I used my glaive in reletively close quarters. I think he may have been metagaming. Trying to disarm someone (manually) based on their main style of fighting doesn't work when you've only seen said person fighting in range.

Oh, I enjoyed Keith walking into my swords that were still on my hip. I said, "Somebody's here," and as he turns to clarify that I didn't see him, I say, "I just felt something brush my swords..." He kinda shrugs and moves back around and knocks the lock off the door post :-p
