Highlights of the October Part 1 2009 game!

Highlights of the October Part 1 2009 game!

Postby Laurelin on Tue Oct 06, 2009 2:42 am

When I awoke from my sleepy coma I must say I was surprised to see this post was not already started. So rain and mud aside I thought it was a great game! First of all Bravo to the NPCs for once again putting us to the test and running us through the mill and ignoring the aches pains and exhaustian to keep us busy.

So without further ado, I shall begin with my highlights and look forward to reading all of yours. By the way, they are in no specific order...

1. Well maybe this is more an oog highlight than anything but, Grats to Keith and Ginger on their engagement! Glad I was there to hug you sis and offer my congrats to you in person! Keith... the rest of my siblings and I will consider your formal initiation into the clan.

2. Dark Lord is back! Man I hate him and his son! Hopefully this time he stays gone! TIME STOP!

3. Arzerack ... Torom's champion... demon of dark maginficence... all mighty powerful demon...PWND! By the blade of Laroon! Ive been telling those toromites for years their god had nothing on Laroon! Now thanks to the town, Moon, Zeesa & Sam... Arzerack has to go find a new job. Bet he would be handy at an Outback Steakhouse. You guys all kicked ass! Thanks for braving it with us! Chris... you did an awesome job playing the demon lord. A shame you ran head first right into that can of whoop ass that was waiting for you, it was a fun fight trying to find our opening.

4. Ickathon! My buddy... you finally spilled the beans! It was so worth getting out of bed for. That should speak volumes cause... once im sleeping I wouldn't get out of bed for the publishers clearing house sweepstakes winner patrol. Ginger can attest to that. I can't wait to venture down new avenues with the Awethorns in the future... we still have much to explore!

5. Pernnix... my old friend! It was soooo much fun hyping your ego to get your help. I shall never tire of their banter it is too much fun.

6. The rp in between plots... of which there were many, with players was great fun. From Altieri fretting over Ash, concern over a fallen dragon, discussing the finer points of forging weapons to planning out how to handle the long list of problems we all faced, including the hot potatoe, is what makes the experience so great. I know I read in another post about people who have mentioned not experiencing other larps, but in my prior experiences rp always seemed centered around what NPC's brought to light. The players at Heroic-Realms take initiative each and every game to connect with their character and forge realtionships beyond those they drove up with. The creativity about their homes, lives, where they came from, where they wish to go, hopes, dreams, sorrows makes the world really come alive... not just for you, but everyone around you. Thanks for making Laurelin a great experience for me.

7. Worrying over getting that damn time stop device from the barracks with the Dark Lord between us... the Barracks... and Vica who had the combo to the lock. Fortunately the Constable remembered he had the combo and made a dash for it... passing it off to Hanz who bravely ran past the Dark Lord to get the item to us. It was like a football play in the super bowl! Touch Down! Into the second half... Dark Lord gets loose, goes for the sack... knocks the time stop device from my hands.... and tackled by Hanz at the line of scrimmage! The device was recovered and as the clock ran out victory was ours! HUZZAH!

8. Stark... Cali... I know how much you hate Tinne'zari... and yes, she has been a real bitch in your rp lives. Knowing how much your charas would love to run her down with a ten ton truck tells me I did my job. I never feel right about placing chara lives in jeapordy or being out right brutal toward them without reason, but you were always good sports about it and let me know it was oog ok. It was my first time rping a live evil chara, all other experiences were always in text. Thanks for making it so much fun. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did and it was as memorable for you as it was for me. Bobby, Chris and Steve thanks for joining me in team evil this round. Im almost sorry I missed Chris trying to play with the townfolk as a mind flayer. And Taldrin... your expression when unexpectedly running into Drow royalty is one I shall never forget.

Well thats all I can think of for now and a good start. What was everyone elses highlights?
- It is in the balance of all things that we find enlightenment.
- I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

Despite not being there, my biggest highlight is...

knowing I get to return next game! HUZZAH!

Though I do hope everyone else had an absolute blast.

Yeah...I went and killed a dragon then played Hot Potato for the rest of the time. Not the most combat or storyline stimulating weekend for me, but I still had a ton of fun because I got to see and goof around with everybody. :-) BTW Keith - you owe us an extra hour for the tornado warning :P

This game was totally amazing! Here are some of my favorite moments...

1. Keith and Ginger's engagement...though that damn Drow Queen made me miss it! :) Congrats, you guys!

2. The Water Elemental. Just an awesome fight. When I saw Stark taking him on sword for sword at one point I thought someone was gonna die!

3. Tinne'zari. BITCH GONNA DIE! lol Stark and Cali shall reign supreme someday! Haha. Dawn, awesome RPing with you. You are one of my favorite villains now. Just remember...Tinne'zari shall fall one day, and Stark and Cali will be the ones to do it. And Moon, thank you for telling Cali what she needed to know. I have a feeling Tinne'zari would have still withheld some information...oh, come on...everyone knows that would happen.

4. Altiri's First Kill. Oh Arlon, that was wonderful. His giggling just made my day. He is a true assassin. KILLLLLLLLL!

5. Torom's Champion. That fight was just intense. Cali was getting a little scared when that went down. When Stark got "Dark Magic Commanded" Cali wanted to cry, but then I realized that it would be kinda cool to kick my own boyfriend's ass. *evil laugh* I think I even know how to do it... *plots evilly in case this happens again*

I'll leave the rest to others...SEE YOU ALL NEXT GAME!!!!

Artha actually got a lot of involvement this time around, I had an awesome time.

1) The scene with Orogom and Dart and I. I know that was a HUGE emotional scene for Orogom, but even just watching the fight had me on edge. Especially "Circle of Dragons, Damage 300". OW. I'm going to enjoy the other benefit I got out of that encounter, though. :D

2) The voodoo doll code thing on Saturday night. Artha finally got a chance to show off something that's right up his alley (since I as a player love the intellectual victories and I love codebreaking), and having Taldrin call him a genius was awesome. ^_^

4. Altiri's First Kill. Oh Arlon, that was wonderful. His giggling just made my day. He is a true assassin. KILLLLLLLLL!/quote]

Yeah, it was an awesome scene from my point of view as a player, even if he was THIS CLOSE to Artha blasting his elfy butt. Tread carefully next time, little assassin, Artha has an itchy trigger finger when you mess with his friends...

3) Making Altiri get Ambrose'd. SQUIRREL! XP

And even though it wasn't part of the game...
4) PERMANENCY. Staff of +7 Asskick here I come.

Great game everyone...You all were so awesome! Even the rain didn't dampen our game play, nice!

Each event I typically provide a laundry list of good experiences, but I must say I really appreciated them all this game. It was nice to finally put some closure to plots that had lingered on for four years now! Wow, it has been that long. It was also nice to start a few new plots to be linked...hmmm?!?!!?

Again, I really liked all the plots and interactions that they brought about. For this time I will list only one highlight of the game mentioning it by one word

"Engagement"

Ok I lie; I must name a few...

The Dark lord plot was a very nice way to start the game...three skeleton warriors enter the stronghold and perform a ritual in the undead Treant circle...summoning their master; the dark lord!

Capturing the wizard’s shadow, that was very interesting

The killing of an ancient dragon, what more needs to be said but awesome!

Having moon bring a player back from the dead...yes there are a few ways to do this in-game. The real question is why moon would have done this. Kudos to anyone who can figure this one out...hint, can we say Sprites. Now I bet I confused you even more. Nice!!!

Seeing everyone surround then kill the water elemental inside the tavern. Great job folks, I was all in on that one!

The shadow elf queen of house Tinetth. Yes Laurelin, I was not expecting you guys to be in the lower field; it was a great surprise!!!

Scarring Kiaransalee as the dark lord and knocking the time-stop device from Laurelins hands...some things will never be forgotten...nice!!!

Smirl almost lighting up a Silver Hand seer...if you said Eldis, there would have been hell to pay...sometimes not hearing in masks can be a good thing?!?!? Chris, great job on that one!

And many more...

I have to say I am truly bummed out about missing half the game!!! I know that so many amazing things happened while I was away and believe me when I say I was thinking in my head "Powerword-Not Fair" while I was stuck in my classroom falling asleep!!!

Ok so I might have to be a little bias on my first highlight so no offense to anyone!

1 - The wonderful Engagement - Keith you are not kidding when you mention closing out plots from long ago and I am excited to see Zeesa & Taldrin come full circle as well as you and I. To Taldrin - Miloween Sendenowulus Eversderan......and to Keith - My love, my best friend, forever and always! It's going to be hard enough to plan one wedding now I will have to plan for two????? Perhaps Vica will be able to provide Zeesa with alot of advice! :P

Ok so keeping the momentum going about closing out plots from long ago.........

2 - The amazing Trio - Laurelin, Sammarac, and Zeesa battling with blood sweat and tears to save the realm once more! How in Vith's creation do we always manage to get in these messes.....LOL - It was totally awesome finding out the true connection between our characters and let’s just say that Zeesa will be tending to the druid circle more often... ::wink:: Chris you did an amazing job as the demon – you had Zeesa scared out of her mind I was so ready for you to get up and kick my butt!!!

3 - "He's Back!.......The Dark Lord……Azganoth.....He is Back!" - I never thought I would have ever had to see him again..........and I have to say Kiaransalee your scream was EPIC.......I did the same thing the first time I saw the dark Lord 4 seasons ago although no sound came out because that time around WE were time stopped as he beat us down!

I wish I had some more to list but unfortunately that is all I had a chance to experience this game……..but as always the players did an amazing job – the whole lot of you are amazing and bring so much flavor to your characters you truly help make the game the fun that it is!

PS – Can’t wait for Eliora to come back next game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to say my favorite was when after we were all done. i used survival to get back up and killed Eldrith, turned to look around, then turned back to her and said " Take that you bitch."

I also liked rping in the tavern with Chris as the mindflayer. Everyone else was behind the magic lock. he kept asking them to come out but I told him they were too scared of him.

I have to say this may have been the best game ever! There was just so much going on, I still can’t absorb it at all. Some of my memorable moments:

1. The Dark Lord….I thought we got rid of him?? It was not fun bumping into him alone on a dark path. At least
Morgan remembered he could get in the box! And arriving at the fight to find everyone down was overwhelming.

2. After almost walking in to the tavern while the mind flayer was there ending up walking into him on his way out
of town….hmm, Vica was not having a good night.

3. Morgan and the Witch….trust me I know how long he has wanted to do that

4. And the biggest highlight of them all. Once again Congratulations Keith and Ginger! Zeesa, of cause Vica will
help!

There were also many small moments that all together made it a great game. Can’t wait for the next one!!!!

I had a great game! Everyone did a great job, staying in character. Scott, I agree Mind flayer, tavern, scared folks...You nailed it! good times, you and Hanz took the blow for the town while super bitch was priming stark and ancalime, for a little dose of humility!! Heh,drow royalty.

I had a blast playing many rolls this game, but not Rolland<winks at Ginger>. Win some lose some...Hey while where on the subject, ginger that is...Did taldrin get engaged or keith?

Lots of fun RP, and fluid battles...without the word clarify~!

LOL too funny - I am sure you can come up with a really good curse that Rolland had placed on him in some tomb raid that made him go crazy and kill his friends!... NICE! :) As for the engagement they are both stuck with me now!

Uh...Ginger? You're not supposed to reveal your evil intentions until AFTER he says, "I do", lest you scare him off before you've cast the hidden magics that are learned by a bride before her wedding night *salaciously evil grin*
