Game schedule modification (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

Game schedule modification (PLEASE READ CAREFULLY)

It is with deep regret that we are partly cancelling the last game of the year scheduled for October 30, 2009. The other night it rained and snowed causing undue stress on the tents…sanctuary even collapsed! The weather outlook over the next week is supposed to yield rain, possibly snow and overall poor weather conditions. Due to severe temperature drops, the leaves and moisture buildup is causing weight stress to our structures. With that said we feel it is wisest to partly cancel and/or modify the up coming game event and not risk further damage to our structures.

So, what’s the plan???

Since there will be no structures to sleep in, we have decided to run a partial game event that will tentatively start on Saturday morning from 9AM and end Saturday eve around 11PM or so depending on variables.

• Those that attend will still earn character points as if it were a full game event.
• Those that attend will be allowed to use all character related skills as if it were a full game event; we will not water the skill use down…be prepared the npc’s won’t either!
• We will provide pizza for the Saturday meal…it’s free, compliments of the manor house!!!

If you are still planning to attend the game, simply send me a PM, EMAIL or TEXT MESSAGE and wait for a confirmation from me. Please do not forget to do this!!!
Again, we deeply regret this change…we were more than amped up to run a full game for this final event of the year!

I messaged Keith about it, and he said I should put my idea up here to see what everyone else thinks.
If we let some people keep their cars up by the garage (for sleeping in, there's enough room for quite a few), and the rest drag in cots into the front part of the garage, we should probably have enough space to sleep in that we wouldn't need the cabins. What do you guys think?

I'll sleep in my car...wouldn't be the first time I've done that *coughs* Mithroar puking in the barracks! *coughs*

Additionally, it means that I won't have to get up at 4 am on Saturday to get out there in time for the game to start :D

I know that Mike and I could probably handle sleeping in his truck if this works out. He has a bench seat! CUDDLES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, we could probably put an air mattress in the bed of his truck as another option. Would work for me. I have to check with him though. :) :) Keep me posted, people!

I'll be seeing Xollio, Hanz, and Tabris at SCA tonight, I'll tell them to check this thread.

Other than that, the only issue I can think up on the guys who'll be sleeping in the garage is privacy for changing clothes and whatnot. Probably splitting the front area in half with a tarp could work for that.

If people sleep in their cars, are we talking both friday & saturday nights? I just booked a hotel room in Torrington for sat after game.

I would have no problem sleeping in my car over night. I am driving Robby (Tabris) up and the two of us could fit comfortably if absolutely needed and I could possibly fit one more in the back as well. So if we go with this idea, which I'd love, I can fit one more from Southern (since that is where Robby and I as well as many others are coming from) if they don't mind.

But I'd love a full game if possible because well, I love the LARP and miss it that much.

Darren (Hanz) approves of the idea, as does Collinwood (Israfil). This appears to be a good plan. Glad I thought of it! ^_^

After much debate, we have decided on the following...

1) The game will start at 9AM on Saturday and end around 11PM or later if demand calls for it?!?!
2) We will need to refrain from having the mass sleep in cars exodus... a few cars wouldn't be so bad, but it has been mentioned too many cars is an issue for emergency vehicles try to make it atop the driveway...sorry folks! Additionally, there won't be much room in the garage for sleeping...don't count on it. The space will be more or less confined with all the cots, tents, and misc stuff of the game.
3) If you wish, you may use your own tent. However, this may require a ton of work as the ground is not so welcoming of tent stakes...it is honestly a very rocky place.
4) You are welcome to use the tavern or the barracks for sleeping. This will be the last season we use the barracks...as you can tell, we need a new tent).
5) We will not provide cots nor use the ones we have...don't ask!
6) If you are planning to stay overnight, you might want to have a contingency plan for sleeping arrangements...just in case

Recommendations:

1) Get plenty of sleep on Friday night, the night before the game!
2) Try not to over extend yourself so you can make the drive home.
3) If you cannot afford a hotel which I am told is between $65-85.00, leave earlier enough to make it home safely...even if you leave prior to game over; safety first!
4) Even though the typical dinner is on the manor house, please bring your own food/water/snacks!
5) Please don’t forget your light sources (glow sticks or glow lights work best).

*pouts* and here I was ready to inflate an air-mattress in my car.

So I guess that means we should all strive to get out there by about 7 or 8am for check-in?

No, lets all plan to meet around 9AM or so...if everyone has their participation form ready, it might go by a bit faster.

Hope this helps!?!?!?!

It never ends... So my plan was to have everything broken down prior to game-on (cabin tents, cots, pop-ups, etc). To no avail work calls and is now making it difficult to accomplish all tasks. With that said, I will be asking you for help breaking down the remaining items which are (2) cabin tents and (8) cots...I might be able to get the cots at night time?!??!!? The reason for us not leaving these structures up for use is weather...we are expecting bad weather on Sunday!

Those of you who show up at 9am and/or a little before and/or after will be asked to assist us. To hang a carrot out there, we will be awarding each participant one of six Heroic-items to be used in game. The items are as follows:

1) "Bestowment" potion (1 use): The ability to use any single learned skill an additional three times for this event only. For example, if you already have the skill critical strike damage 5 learned, you will be able to use the skill three more times than normal.

2) "Blood Luck" potion (1 use): The ability is the same as the general skill "Luck." Essentially, the skill grants a person one additional luck.

3) "Disruption" potion (1 use): Anyone employing this skill will posses the ability to disrupt any spell from being cast. Characters should role play they are thrusting a sword or weapon into the ground calling out “Disruption.” During this time no magic can be cast in an affected area. The area affected by this skill is 15ft radius with duration of 15 seconds. This skill does not apply to the school of magic cast by Avatars.

4) "Agony" potion (1 use): Anyone struck by this potion will fall to the ground in agony for 10 seconds...this skill cannot be turned or resisted other than vitality.

5) "Abate Damage/Death" potion (1 use): User can resist up to 20 damage points and evade the next death skill i.e., vital strike or power word death.

6) "Vitality" potion (1 use): Resist one magical spell or skill (user states “vitality-No Effect”).

I Was going to be leaving around 5 or 6 am on Saturday, which will get me out there around 7 or 8. Just let me know what I need to do and it will get done (since I don't have to lug a bunch of stuff down to a cabin this game :D)

Well, I will hopefully be there a bit early. But I'm not 100% sure. I will certainly help as much as I can. :D

I am trying to get get there at round 8:30 with lee and brit. Not too worried about a carrot, but it would be nice to have. And considering i should only need my costume and my snacks, I will have no issue helping out.
