Character Death - Rule

Character Death - Rule

Character Death

For valuable consideration, Heroic Realms is revitalizing its policy concerning character death. Characters that die *five times will be considered dead and will need to create a new character. *At Judgment, characters will have a chance to avoid death.

Rule:

A character is “fatally” struck in the upper torso; he must proceed to “Vith” the god of Judgment. Upon entering the chamber, he will be presented with the following:

One black cloth bag and five colored stones

The player will be instructed to take the stones and place them into the empty black cloth bag. The player will then be asked to remove only one stone from the black cloth bag.

Black Stone: The black stone counts as one of the player’s five allowable deaths. The player returns to the game with one life point and all remaining skills preceding death.

Silver Stone: The silver stone counts as one of the player’s five allowable deaths. The player returns to the game with full health & skills.

Red Stone: The Red stone counts as one of the player’s five allowable deaths. The player returns to the game with full health only.

Blue Stone: The blue stone counts as one of the player’s five deaths allowable. The player returns to the game with full skills only.

White Stone: Player avoids death altogether.

Any time a player removes a colored stone other than the “white-stone,” that colored stone will be replaced with a black stone. Once a player removes a total of five black stones, that player’s character will be considered permanently dead.

Since Heroic Realms has begun in 2005, we have only seen three players die in combat. Even though characters have only "five" allowable deaths, elite monsters are the only ones able to fatally strike a character and deliver a final blow. With that said, it should be understood that a characters death may or may not come swiftly…more often than not, it is merely how well one plays there character choosing to engage in combat or not.

Death:

Player characters brought to zero life points are considered dead. Dead characters should remain in the locale of their death for at least fifteen minutes but not longer than thirty minutes. When a player character is brought to zero life points, the life force of the character may be revitalized through magical or other means such as “luck” within thirty minutes.

Any character brought to zero life points that is struck by a weapon in the upper torso will be considered dead and will need to proceed to the God of Judgment. This is called “Fatal Strike” and must be stated upon delivering such a final blow. In this case, other than divine intervention, nothing will revitalize a character.

At any time following death, a player character may choose not to return or become revitalized to life and may proceed directly to the God of Judgment. Characters that die *five times will be considered dead and will need to create a new character. *At Judgment, characters will have a one-in-five chance to avoid death; see staff or a player representative for more details.

Please note that Armor and/or Magic may enhance a player characters ability to maintain a greater degree of health.
